HB 48 Would Allow People to Legally Carry Hidden, Loaded Handguns in Daycare Centers, on College Campuses, and in Police Stations
Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today responded to the decision of the Ohio Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee to delay a committee vote on House Bill 48. If enacted, HB 48 would endanger Ohio communities by allowing people to bring hidden, loaded handguns onto some college campuses and into daycare centers and police stations.

“The committee’s decision today to delay a vote on House Bill 48 gives them more time to consider the dangers this bill poses to Ohioans. The list of voices opposing HB 48 is long, and includes police chiefs, prosecutors, parents, students and representatives of the higher education community. We urge the committee to stand up for public safety and reject this reckless proposal if and when a vote is scheduled.”
