Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and members of Mom’s Demand Action gathered in Houston Monday to raise awareness about gun laws.
It has been six months since the gun massacre tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary where 20 young students and six adults were killed. The group read off the names of every victim and paused for a moment of silence at the event.
“Why is it so difficult to create a system of universal background checks, closing the gun show loopholes, stopping individuals from selling guns to persons out of the trunk of their car,” Lee asked the crowd.
Supporters at the event said politicians need to listen to their constituents.
