MIDDLETON, Wis. ― The Wisconsin chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today released the following statement in response to a shooting at a commercial building in Middleton that wounded three people. While details are still unfolding, reports indicate the shooter is now dead.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in an average year, there are more than 350 workplace shootings in the U.S. In 2016 alone, there were 500 workplace homicides, and nearly four out of five of these homicides involved a firearm.

“I am heartbroken that once again, gun violence erupted in what should be a safe place. No one should have to fear being shot at home, at school or at their workplace. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those wounded today. We have to do more to stop this senseless gun violence.”
