STATEMENT FROM LAURA LATTA, VOLUNTEER WITH THE WASHINGTON CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:
“Our hearts go out to the family and children of Charleena Lyles, who yesterday became one of the more than 90 Americans killed by gun violence every day. This tragic news reminds us that too many families have an empty chair at their table because of gun violence. It also reminds us that gun violence overall has a disproportionate impact on communities of color. We must work together to reduce gun violence in all of its forms, in all of our communities.”
