American Moms to Reach Out to Congress Every Day Week of Feb. 18;
Outreach to be Captured and Publicized Via Social Media
(Indianapolis, IN) Feb. 11, 2013 — One Million Moms for Gun Control announced today a week-long campaign to mobilize moms across the country to demand action from their Congressional representatives on new and stronger common-sense gun laws. During “Moms Demand Action Week,” kicking off on Mon., Feb. 18, 2013, moms will pressure Congress every day via in-district meetings, Tweets, calls and emails to their elected officials, all of which will be captured by social media at onemillionmomsforguncontrol.org, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/OneMillionMomsForGunControl, and on Twitter at @1MM4GC.
“For too long, the conversation about gun violence in America has been controlled by those who stand to profit from easy access to guns. In the meantime, American families continue to be destroyed by gun violence,” said Shannon Watts, founder of One Million Moms for Gun Control. “Mothers have had enough, and we will no longer stand by and let Congress turn its back on sensible gun laws.”
