CINCINNATI – The Ohio chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today responded to reports of a shooting around 1 a.m. this morning that killed one person and injured 15 others at Cameo Night Club in Cincinnati. STATEMENT FROM MAUREEN WASHOCK, VOLUNTEER CHAPTER LEADER WITH THE OHIO CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:
“Last night, what should have been a fun night of dancing at Cameo Night Club ended as a horrible nightmare. Going out to dance should never be a life-threatening activity, and our hearts go out to everyone affected by last night’s tragic shooting. While our thoughts and prayers go out to them and their families, we also know we must do more to protect our community from gun violence. More than 90 Americans die and hundreds more are injured every day from gun violence and the shooting at Cameo Night Club once again reminds us that as a state and as a nation, we are not doing enough to prevent such senseless gun violence.”
