Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America
“On behalf of all American mothers, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America applauds the passage of the Assault Weapons Ban in the Senate Judiciary Committee today, the 3-month anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. This is the first step in an uphill battle, but mothers remain undaunted — we will go to any length to protect our children. Eight children are killed every day in the United States; the 80 million moms in our country will not stand for continued inaction by Congress on sensible gun laws. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is incredibly thankful to the senators who voted for this bill, and for the legislators who continue to work on it. Now we will mobilize our mom members to put pressure on senators to pass the Assault Weapons Ban and to prove to their constituents that they value the safety of our country’s children above all else,”
