North Dakota Moms Demand Action, Everytown Criticize North Dakota House Passage of Dangerous Gun Bill

April 11, 2019

BISMARCK, N.D. — The North Dakota chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today released the following statement after the North Dakota House of Representatives passed SB 2172, which as amended would allow people to carry loaded guns in K-12 schools, college buildings, and sporting events. The bill now moves back to the Senate.

“Rolling back public safety laws that protect sensitive areas from gun violence would be a serious mistake,” said Cheryl Biller, volunteer chapter leader with the North Dakota chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. “If enacted, this would create major challenges for the people working to protect North Dakota’s schools, colleges and sporting events. Senators should see this reckless proposal for what it is and keep it off of the governor’s desk.”
