NEW YORK – The New York chapters of Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, the grassroots networks of Everytown for Gun Safety, today released the following statement after a shooting at a backyard party in Rochester, NY early this morning killed two people and left at least 14 others wounded, all in their late teens or early 20s. Dozens of rounds were fired, according to police.
“This is devastating and utterly unacceptable,” said Deb Antoniades, a volunteer with the New York chapter of Moms Demand Action. “We don’t have to live like this. We’re thinking of everyone affected by this horrific shooting, and we’re more committed than ever to fighting for the safer future all of us deserve.”
