Moms Demand Action Thank Jay Leno for Canceling SHOT Show Event

November 20, 2014

Moms Launch #MomsThankJay to Show Support for Common Sense Decision

In response to news that Jay Leno has cancelled his hosting appearance at the SHOT Show, the State Industry Dinner for the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) in Las Vegas, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America released the following statement:

STATEMENT FROM SHANNON WATTS, FOUNDER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA

“Moms applaud Jay Leno’s decision to cancel his National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) event appearance after hearing directly from Moms and other gun violence prevention supporters on social media. The NSSF opposes common-sense gun safety measures like background checks on all gun sales. This announcement comes just hours after moms launched the social media campaign #JokesOnLeno and reflects the power of holding public figures accountable. Jay Leno now stands with the majority of Americans who support common sense gun laws. Moms across the country are thanking Jay for making the right decision.”
