The Colorado chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement applauding a unanimous Colorado Supreme Court ruling upholding Colorado’s 2013 law prohibiting the possession of large-capacity magazines:
“Today’s ruling upholds a sensible law that keeps all Coloradans safe from gun violence,” said Jane Dougherty, a volunteer with the Colorado chapter of Moms Demand Action. “I know all to well the dangers of large capacity magazines, my brave sister Mary’s life was taken with the use of high capacity magazines at Sandy Hook in 2012. I am grateful the court recognized this sensible public safety law is fully consistent with the Colorado constitution.”
