Brianna “BB” Hill is at Least the 20th Trans Person Killed Nationwide This Year; 16 Have Been Killed With a Gun; The Majority Have Been Black Women
Her Death Marks the Second Trans Women Shot and Killed in Kansas City Area This Year
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement in response to the death of a transgender woman in Kansas City. According to reports, Brianna “BB” Hill was found shot and killed in the Northeast part of the city and her shooter was apprehended immediately.
“It’s painful to see another life stolen from our community, and our thoughts are with BB’s loved ones as they grieve,” said Karen Rogers, a volunteer with the Missouri chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. “We’re tired of seeing shootings in our city and across the country, especially those that keep hitting marginalized communities hardest. We’re fed up with this gun violence, and it’s past time for our lawmakers to do something about it.”
Brianna “BB” Hill is the second trans woman to be shot and killed in Kansas City area this year, after Brooklyn Lindsey was shot in killed in June.
