William Spengler set his car and house on fire, then hid in a natural depression in a bank near a tree, armed with three guns — including a Bushmaster semi-automatic rifle, the same gun Adam Lanza used to kill 20 first-graders and six teachers in Newtown on Dec. 14. Then as firefighters arrived, he shot them, killing two and injuring two more before killing himself.
