“I’m a mother of two small children, and I want to be able to send them to school without being afraid,” Katherine Worden said. She’s the leader of the Triangle’s chapter of a group called “One Million Moms for Gun Control.”
“I think we’ve reached a critical mass of people who want something done,” she said.
The group started just 10 days ago in response to the tragic shootings in Newtown, Conn. Since then, they’ve set up 50 chapters nationwide, and they now have more than 12,000 “likes” on Facebook.
