WASHINGTON — Today, following Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s announcement that she would not seek reelection this year, Everytown for Gun Safety released the following statements:
“In the wake of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Kyrsten Sinema stepped up and brought together lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “She has been a true gun sense champion during her time in the Senate, and we wish her the best moving forward.”
“Senator Sinema was instrumental in successfully passing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first federal gun safety legislation to become law in almost 30 years,” said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. “We stay committed to partnering with federal leaders who, like Senator Sinema, recognize the urgent call from the American people for common-sense gun safety laws.”
