NEW YORK – Everytown for Gun Safety, the country’s largest gun violence prevention organization, today released the following statement:
STATEMENT FROM JOHN FEINBLATT, PRESIDENT OF EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:
“As Americans mourn the passing of Senator McCain, the gun safety movement is remembering the courage he showed in supporting laws to keep us safe. In the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy, Senator McCain movingly explained his decision to vote for background check legislation, and predicted that ‘sooner or later, this country will take up this issue.’ I am grateful for everything Senator McCain did to bring us closer to that day, and my thoughts are with his family.”
