California Has a Long History of Putting Public Safety First and Passing Common Sense Gun Legislation

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The California chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today applauded Governor Jerry Brown’s appointment and the California legislature’s confirmation of Xavier Becerra as California’s Attorney General. Becerra has a long history of being a gun sense champion for California. STATEMENT FROM SARA SMIRIN, A VOLUNTEER WITH THE CALIFORNIA CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“The California chapter of Moms Demand Action applauds the appointment of Xavier Becerra as Attorney General. It is vital that we have leaders who will put gun safety first and Becerra is a gun sense champion of the first order. As he takes office as Attorney General, we look forward to working with him to continue the progress on gun safety in California.
