Moms Demand Action Rally at Virginia State Capitol to reduce gun violence

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) –
Dozens of parents marched on our state capitol for what they say are “common sense solutions” to gun laws.

The group, “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America,” formed because of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.

Men and women rallied at the bell tower asking lawmakers to tighten regulations and keep guns out of the wrong hands.

A large group of moms weathered the rain to fight for freedom and safety surrounding gun laws. Each name written on a cardboard sign is a reminder of those who suffered from gun violence.

“What this country has a problem with is our obsession with guns,” said Senator Dave Marsden. “We are absolutely obsessed with these metal objects.”

Marsden has fought an uphill battle for tighter gun control. Everyone here wants to see the same changes he’s pushing for including: Closing the gun show loophole.
