COLESVILLE, Md. – The Maryland chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today issued the following statement in response to reports that a man shot and killed his wife, Sang Yeon Kim, and 10-year-old son Andy in an apparent murder-suicide. The alleged shooter’s young daughter and adult step daughter are in critical condition.

STATEMENT FROM DANIELLE VEITH, VOLUNTEER LEADER WITH THE MARYLAND CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Our hearts are breaking for the family and friends of Sang Yeon and Andy Kim. Yesterday’s shooting is a tragic reminder that the combination of domestic violence and guns can be deadly. We must do more to protect Maryland families from gun violence.”
