Everytown and Moms Demand Action have kept an index of school shootings in America since 2013 – recording anytime a firearm is discharged inside a school building or on a school campus or grounds.

STATEMENT FROM CONNIE COURTNEY, VOLUNTEER WITH THE KENTUCKY CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Today’s shooting at Marshall County High School is every parent’s worst nightmare. Gun violence has no place in our community and certainly not in our schools – where our children should feel safe to learn. As we think about the lives affected today, we must not let news of school shootings become the new normal. We cannot accept that more than 90 people die from gun violence every single day in America, with hundreds more injured. Our politicians who represent us – in Washington D.C. and Frankfort – must do more to protect our children from gun violence.”
