The event will be hosted by the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, with featured speakers:

Michael R. Bloomberg, former New York City mayor and founder of Everytown for Gun Safety
John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety
Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America

“There has never been more momentum in the gun safety movement than there is right now, but political inaction continues to take a tragic toll,” said Michael R. Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City and founder of Everytown for Gun Safety. “The shootings in El Paso and Dayton have rightly outraged Americans, and we are going to make sure that gun safety is front and center in this presidential election – something that is long overdue.”

“There has never been a more urgent time for 2020 candidates to tell Americans exactly how they will address gun violence,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “Even before the horrifying events in El Paso and Dayton — not to mention the daily gun violence in Baltimore, Brooklyn, Chicago, Houston and other cities — presidential candidates were speaking out about gun safety as never before. But now more than ever, Americans need to focus on the role the next President and our other elected officials will play in determining the safety of our children.”

“There is not a parent left in America who isn’t terrified that their child could be next,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. “We need to know now how the next president will address gun violence and work with urgency to keep our families safe. In turn, Moms Demand Action volunteers will be out in force to support candidates we know will prioritize public safety.”
