Kentucky Moms Demand Action, Everytown Respond To Fatal Domestic Violence Shooting In Shawnee

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement in response to reports that a man shot and killed a woman outside the North Central Church of Christ Sunday afternoon. While details are still unfolding, reports indicate the two had an intimate relationship. The suspected shooter is recovering in the hospital and will subsequently be released to police custody.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s loved ones and the Shawnee community. Today marks the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and this is a tragic reminder that we must do more to protect domestic violence survivors and all families from gun violence in Kentucky.”
