March for Gun Sense

March 1, 2014 at 10am – 11am

WHO: Moms Demand Action Washington
WHERE: Seattle Downtown Public Library
1000 4th Ave

The Seattle Public Library (SPL) recently reversed its policy prohibiting loaded guns on the premises. People must have a library card to check out a book, but no license to open carry a weapon… and no guarantee of background check.

So please, join Moms and Grandmothers as we gather outside the library (4th St entrance) to promote awareness about open carry laws and the importance of universal background checks. Kids not only welcome, their attendance encouraged!

We’ll then head inside (silently, as library patrons) for a story hour where books related to gun violence prevention will be read. Oh, and wear your Moms or GAGV t-shirts, but leave your signs at home!
