Initial Reports Indicate At Least 3 People Dead and Multiple People Injured
On Tuesday, 2 People Were Shot and Killed and One Shot and Wounded at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Florida chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement after reports of a shooting at Naval Air Station in Pensacola. Initial reports indicate at least three people were shot and killed and multiple people are injured. Reports indicate the shooter is dead.
“Our veterans and active-duty military put their lives on the line to protect us overseas — they shouldn’t have to be terrorized by gun violence at home,” said Cindy Martin, a volunteer with the Florida chapter of Moms Demand Action and survivor of gun violence whose son, Matthew, was shot and killed in 2012 and whose daughter works at the Naval Air Station. “Gun violence has touched our lives before, but now we have been rocked again by a tragedy right here in our city. Days like this remind me that we need to continue the fight for gun safety laws.”
This shooting comes hours after a South Florida shootout left multiple people dead following an apparent robbery and carjacking Thursday evening.
It also comes two days after an active-duty United States sailor shot and killed two Department of Defense civilians and wounded one more at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. Members of the Everytown Veterans Advisory Council and Moms Demand Action volunteers are available for interviews.
