Everytown, Wyoming Moms Demand Action Applaud Senate’s Rejection of Bill Aimed at Forcing Guns Onto College Campuses

February 27, 2017

House Bill 136 Would Have Forced Colleges and Universities to Allow People to Carry Hidden Loaded Guns on Campus

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Wyoming chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today applauded the state Senate for rejecting House Bill 136, which seeks to force colleges and universities to allow people to carry hidden, loaded handguns on campus.

STATEMENT FROM AUDETTE FULLBRIGHT, A VOLUNTEER WITH THE WYOMING CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Wyoming has a long history of responsible gun ownership, and I am pleased that today most of our Senators voted to oppose concealed guns on college campuses. University presidents, students, faculty and parents know that it’s just plain dangerous to allow guns on college and university campuses, and our voices have been heard in Cheyenne. I am proud of our lawmakers for recognizing the need to both respect our Second Amendment rights and keep our families and communities safe.”
