ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today responded to reports of a shooting in the Four Hills neighborhood on Monday evening that killed three children, ranging in age from five to nine years old, and injured their mother.

STATEMENT FROM CHERYL HAASE, A VOLUNTEER WITH THE NEW MEXICO CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION:

“Last night, three young children with their whole lives ahead of them were senselessly killed by an act of gun violence, while their mother was shot and injured. Our hearts go out to their families during this time. While details are still unfolding, we can all agree that this is not the America we want for our children and families. Here in New Mexico, we must work together to help protect our fellow neighbors – and we can start by strengthening our laws to keep guns out of dangerous hands.”
