Everytown, Kentucky Chapter of Moms Demand Action Statement in Response to Tragic Death of Trinity Gay

October 16, 2016

15-Year-Old Was Killed Early Sunday Morning in Lexington by Stray Bullet

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today released the following statement in response to the tragic shooting death of 15-year-old Trinity Gay, who was shot and killed in Lexington early Sunday morning.

STATEMENT FROM CONNIE COARTNEY, VOLUNTEER CHAPTER LEADER WITH THE KENTUCKY CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION:

“My prayers are with Trinity’s family, friends and all of Lexington. Tragically, this is another example of the senseless gun violence that kills 91 Americans every day and injures hundreds more. Trinity’s mother is right – no parent should have to bury a child killed by gun violence. Moms Demand Action volunteers will not rest until Kentucky and our whole country are safe from gun violence.”
