Everytown for Gun Safety Responds After Parkland Families File Lawsuit Against Seller, Manufacturer of Firearm Used in Shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

May 24, 2018

NEW YORK – Everytown for Gun Safety, the country’s largest gun violence prevention organization, today released the following statement after family members of two students killed in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the seller and manufacturer of the rifle used in the shooting.

STATEMENT FROM ERIC TIRSCHWELL, LITIGATION DIRECTOR FOR EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:

“All survivors of gun violence should be able to seek justice through the courts, including the families who will never be whole again after the Parkland tragedy. We strongly support these families as they seek to hold the gun industry accountable and challenge artificial legal barriers put in place by gun lobby-backed politicians.”
