Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Expands Endorsements for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State

August 30, 2022

NEW YORK — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund (“Everytown”) expanded its endorsements for key statewide offices across ten states, including candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State. A full list of endorsed candidates can be found below.

“The fact that so many candidates are running hard on gun safety is further proof that supporting common-sense laws to prevent gun violence isn’t just good policy — it’s also good politics,” John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund. “Ending our gun violence epidemic requires passing strong gun safety laws, and that requires electing strong gun safety champions like the candidates we’re endorsing today.”

“Gun sense majorities in state capitols across the country have delivered life-saving progress on gun safety and now is the time to build on that momentum,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. “These gun sense champions can count on our grassroots army of Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers to put everything on the line to get them elected in November.”

Everytown announced its first round of non-federal statewide endorsements in June, endorsing tickets in Colorado, Illinois, and New York for re-election. In July, Everytown announced a new round of endorsements across nine states for 22 candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State.

Everytown has also endorsed 163 Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers running for office up and down the ticket, representing the growing power of the grassroots gun safety movement.
