STATEMENT FROM LUCY MCBATH, OUTREACH LEADER FOR EVERYTOWN AND MOMS DEMAND ACTION, WHOSE SON JORDAN DAVIS WAS SHOT AND KILLED AT A FLORIDA GAS STATION IN 2012:

“My heart aches for Christina’s family, who now know the pain of having your loved one senselessly killed by gun violence. Last summer it was a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. Today it’s a concert venue in Orlando. And there have been thousands of shootings – and tens of thousands of Americans killed by gun violence – in the time in between. We deserve to feel safe when we go to concerts, watch a movie or even just stop for gas, as my son Jordan was doing when he was shot and killed. We have to act to end gun violence now. Do not wait until it’s your child that’s shot and killed to join the fight to end gun violence.”
